What does the Slack integration do?

Mind Doodle’s integration with Slack helps teams to improve communication and project management by connecting these across both Mind Doodle and Slack.

Sharing messages, files and tasks across platforms improves working relationships between remote teams, eases online meetings on-the-go, and allows the whole team to stay track with their tasks.

Who can set up this integration?

Our Slack integration can only be set up by someone who is:

  • Slack Admin for the chosen workspace, and
  • Doodle Owner for the chosen Doodle

Task notifications in Slack

Task notifications in Slack help your team stay on track with a project. If you’ve been assigned a new task, or if a task you assigned someone else has a progress update, we’ll send you a notification via Slack.

  1. Delegate responsibilities to team members
  2. Direct messages to notify you of new task assignments
  3. Direct messages when a task you created has a progress update

Set up the Slack integration

To integrate with Mind Doodle from your Slack workspace:

  1. Click Apps in your Slack workspace
  2. Search and find the Mind Doodle App

  1. Click Add
  2. Use the drop-down menu to select which Slack channel you want your messages from Mind Doodle to be posted to
  3. Click green the Open in Slack button

You can either finish connecting Slack and Mind Doodle using commands or your Slack workspace URL.

Finish setup with commands

Type the following command into your direct messages with Mind Doodle’s App:

/minddoodle setup followed by:

-u and type the email address you use for Mind Doodle,

-p and type your password for Mind Doodle,

-d and type the Doodle ID.

         eg. /minddoodle setup -u [email protected] -p mypassword -d 100

Press Enter.

TIP: If you do not know your Doodle ID, follow these steps to obtain it:

  • Log into your Mind Doodle team account
  • Open the Doodle you would like Slack to be connected with
  • Click the Doodle properties button located in the top left corner

  • Copy the Doodle ID and paste it into the /minddoodlle setup command

Finish setup with Slack workspace URL

Click on the Slack logo at the top of the screen.

This will take you to the Slack Settings page.

  1. Click Enable
  2. Enter your Slack workspace URL
  3. Click Save
  4. Click Add to Slack

Integrate with Slack from Mind Doodle

You can also set up the integration from Mind Doodle. To do this, complete the same steps as above in the ‘To finish setup with Slack workplace URL’ section.

This will take you to a Slack app page.

  1. Use the drop-down menu to select which Slack channel you want your messages from Mind Doodle to be posted to
  2. Review the permissions
  3. Click Allow

/minddoodle support
